BARREL-AGED BOURBON BUSTED KNUCKLE SEES ELEVATED ABV IN LATEST BATCH

Barrel-aged beers—particularly those brewed at higher alcohol levels—naturally experience some fluctuation as they mature. This is especially true at the upper end of the ABV spectrum, where extended aging and barrel interaction play a significant role.

From the start, Quaff ON!’s Bourbon Busted Knuckle has been brewed as a higher-ABV version of our flagship porter, intentionally designed to withstand time in bourbon barrels while enhancing the beer’s rich dark malt and roasted character with layered notes of oak and bourbon.

The most recent batch, barrel-aged for eight months since March 2025 in exclusive Hard Truth Distilling Company bourbon barrels, has exceeded its typical average ABV of 9.8% and is currently measuring at approximately 11.2% ABV. While this represents a noticeable increase, it is a natural and fitting outcome for a premium barrel-aged beer of this style.

Most importantly, this batch remains the same beloved Bourbon Busted Knuckle customers know and love! The elevated ABV deepens flavor complexity, provides a longer, smoother finish, and allows the full bourbon barrel character to shine—making it a bold, yet balanced, cozy winter sipper.
